Jack Seddon opened the scoring for Cleckheaton with a try after 5 minutes, Brad Marsden added another a few minutes into first half injury time, reducing Cleckâs deficit to 19-17 at the the break.
Seddon won the champagne moment, catching his own chip over the defence for a contender for try of the season and then excellent work by Mike Swetman released the ever supporting Ronan Evans who ran in for a long range score.
Driffield had, in the meantime, scored six tries of their own and were leading 36-31 with just seconds left. But skipper, Matt Piper, found a hole down the blindside and Swetman maintained his 100% record with the boot with a match winning conversion.
