Head Coach Thiu Barnard in Iron Man Challenge

By Neil Gillan

Thiu, having never even run a half a marathon before, is taking part in the Port Elizabeth Iron Man in memory of his Gran & to raise money for charity

A gruelling 2.4 mile swim, followed by an 118 mile bike ride and finished off with full length marathon. Not for the feint hearted but something Thiu promised his dearly departed grandmother he would take part in, shortly before she passed away. He is doing it to raise money for Sapper Support a charity dedicated to helping ex service men who suffer with PTSD and other mental health issue and he would dearly like your support.

For more details of his story, what he is putting himself through and to donate/sponsor him please visit the link(s) below:

Its a tough challenge that will test his endurance to the very end but we know he can do it!
