Cleckheaton U9's vs Castleford U9's & Old Brods U9's

On Sunday Cleckheaton RUFC U9’s hosted a 3-way against Old Brodleian’s and Castleford. Having been convincingly beaten by both teams in the first match of the season, Cleckheaton were looking to inflict revenge.
In the first game against Old Brodleian’s ‘A’ side, William Wilkinson showed a good turn of pace with some touchline hugging tries whilst Sam Jackson and William Richards (100% effort award) worked tirelessly in defence ensuring a good win.
The 2nd game against Old Brodleian’s ‘B’ side was a closer affair with both teams enjoying periods of good play however the excellent multiple tries by Mackensie Sheldrake and William Nicholson (Player of the Match) along with the first try by Declan Wilson ensured victory went to clinical Cleckheaton again.
In the 3rd game against Castleford, Thomas King’s top tackling ensured Castleford to limited opportunities and with Sam Booth’s and Tom Wassell’s direct running, Cleckheaton went on to a solid win and an excellent overall performance by all for all 3 matches.
