Great start to the season for the under 15s
Cleckheaton/Stocksbridge get the season off to a great start with a win over Wath

With a great attitude the boys all got stuck in, carried the ball well and made some great tackles which converted into points. Final score was 24-22 to stocksbridge/ Cleckheaton.
The first try for Cleck / Stocksbridge came from a smart break from Tom Grainger diving over the line. Wath hit back with a try from their impressive full back but missed the conversion to keep the scores level. Cleck / Stocksbridge came charging down the field and some smart forward play drove Lucas over the line for an impressive try. This time Sam Schofield converted for a 12-5 lead. Again Wath came back with a score in the corner. The home team continued their dominance up front with Jack Kelly smashing over for the first of his two try's. With the game on a two point margin Cleck / Stocksbridge showed their dominance with Eugene running the show at scrum half and some great metres made by the forward pack. Cleck / Stocksbridge got into a great position in the opposition 22. Jack Kelly carrying from a penalty and a lovely site step smashed over the line to push the score up with Sam converting put the game out of reach of Wath with a couple of minutes left to play, Wath however showed great spirit to drive up the field and score a last second try and conversion it wasn't enough to deny Cleckheaton/ Stocksbridge for a great start to the season.
Special mentions to Jack Kelly for his two tries, Sam Schofield for his kicking (which made the difference), Eugene for running the show at scrum half.
Jack Martin got coaches man of the match, Tom Grainger got players player of the match and Lloyd got the special award for his tackles and carries, a massive improvement from Lloyd. All the boys put their bodies on the line today.
