An outstanding first half display by Cleckheaton, saw them score 4 tries through Mikey Hayward(2), Jack Marshall and Matty Piper. Dale Breakwell added 12 points with the boot to set them up for what looked like an easy afternoon. However Scarborough responded with the determination that saw them finish league runners up last season and the final score was a very tight 32-29. Nevertheless 5pts league points for Cleckheaton is a great way to finish the opening day.
The Kestrels started their campaign away at Yarnbury and went 7-0 down before turning on the style to score 14 tries! The final score was a mammoth 90-28 to Cleck to complete a great opening day for the club.
