It is with great sadness that we report the death last week of former player, Richard Curley, at the age of only 50.

Richard was a back row forward who played in the late 80's and 1990's. He was a regular second team player, who also got a number of first team caps and was known, and will be missed by many at the club. We send our deepest condolences to his family.

Richard died suddenly of a heart attack, which has brought this issue back into sharp focus. Cleckheaton Sports Club Chairman, Matthew Stephenson, is raising money to replace our defibrillator on the advice of West Yorks Ambulance Service, following a recent inspection. As well as purchasing a brand new machine, we would also like to raise enough money to have the old one refurbished and placed somewhere else in the community. If you would like to donate to this please click here.
