We are sad to report the passing of our oldest member, Colin Roebuck aged 97. Colin's funeral will take place at 2pm on Friday (24th) at Dewsbury crem

Colin was involved with the club for 75 years, having joined as a player in 1949. He became captain of the "A" Team (2ndXV) in 1956/57 season. Colin enjoyed his playing career and then went on to be a referee for over 25 years. He was a long serving member of the rugby committee and took on many voluntary jobs during his tenure, managing teams and looking after the rugby grounds amongst those duties. Colin was given the honour of Life Membership of Cleckheaton Sports Club inn 2004. In later life he turned to one of the other sports at the club, crown green bowling, which he enjoyed to the last, winning the averages for his vets team last year at the ripe old age of 96! Colin was a club man through and through and will be deeply missed.

Colin's funeral will take place at Dewsbury Crem on Friday (24th May), with a wake at the club afterwards.
