Our U16's Girls rallied the troops on Sunday as Pontefract put out a short notice game request. With most of the team busy due to clashes with other sports or commitments, those available looked forward to the challenge.

With a 10's side made up of only 2 backs and the rest being forwards, it was always going to be a challenge against a side that had their full compliment of players available. The contact and physical nature of the game was well matched throughout, with our girls giving their all, but they could just not get to grips with Ponte's fullback, who when given an inch could certainly take a mile!

Despite several close attempts, our girls succumbed to the pressure, with handling errors costing the the chance to get over the line.

The scoreline did not in anyway reflect the effort levels put in. The team will be keen to change the result when they met again with a full side.

Esther was awarded Opposition player, whilst Ellie and Maisy scooped Coaches Player, and Maisy cleared up again having earned the vote to gain Parents' Player too.

This Sunday sees both the 14's and 16's Girls head over the Pennines to take on Rochdale.
