U9's Unbeaten Run Continues

Cleckheaton u9's continued their unbeaten run when they hosted opposition from West Leeds, Bradford Salem and Old Brods. With a depleted squad due to illness and other sporting commitments Cleckheaton were up against the odds with no substitutions. In the first match against Old Brods, slow out of the blocks Cleckheaton were 2 tries down. However they fought back and the game ended up being an evenly matched game with the score 5-5.
In the second game against West Leeds, Cleckheaton emphatically won 8-1 with the tenacious tackling of Thomas King (player of the match) being notable.
Bradford Salem fairly sizeable opposition were next who fielded a mixed u9/u10s side but this didn't deter clinical Cleckheaton. Cleckheaton who borrowed a couple of u10s to even up the squad numbers but it was Cleckheatons defence that stood out ensuring a very favourable victory of 7-2.
In the final match, the lack of substitutes told and fatigue and injuries were evident. However the persistence of the players to grind out a display was typified by the exemplary performance of Theo McAnulla (100% effort) with the final match against Old Brods 'B' being 7-7.
