Cleckheaton U9’s Excel Again

Cleckheaton RUFC U9’s hosted a 3-way against Airedale and Roundhesian’s with the latter fielding two teams.
In the first game against Roundhesian’s ‘A’ side, Cleckheaton after being two tries up let their usual solid defence lapse to allow Roundhesian’s back into the game. However, solid running from Sam Nolan in his first game whilst excellent tackling from Sam Jackson and Theo McAnulla (player of the match) ensured Cleckheaton a 5-4 win.

Roundhesian’s ‘B’ side in the 2nd game was a closer affair with both teams enjoying periods of good play however the excellent multiple tries by William Wilkinson (100% effort award) and William Nicholson who both showed grit and determination along with the fantastic multiple tackles in succession by Declan Wilson ensured victory went to Cleckheaton again 6-5.

In the 3rd game against Aireborough, Mackenzie Sheldrake’s top tackling down the touchline ensured Aireborough were kept at bay and with Sam Booth’s direct running and William Carden’s mazy runs, Cleckheaton went on to an excellent win and overall performance for all 3 matches.
