Excellent Form Continued

Cleckheaton U10’s, at home to both Bees (Bradford & Bingley) and Skipton, continued their recent form with 2 excellent displays against very organised teams.
In the first match, playing against a joint Bees U10/U11’s side, it was a very evenly matched game considering that the Bees had some U11’s. Excellent driving runs from Sam Booth and Sam Jackson provided great field positioning and the basis to pen the Bees back. Strong and fearless tackling from Declan Wilson and Thomas King ensured that Cleckheaton remained in contention with the final score being honours even at 7-7.
In the second match against Skipton, Cleckheaton gained possession several times with robust rucking from Sam Nolan and consistent backing up from George Nelson. This providing the platform for touchline hugging Jayden Cuffe to score a brace of tries, William Carden’s (100% effort award) mesmerising runs and ability to find a gap when there doesn’t seem to be one and William Nicholson’s (player of the match) route one approach of try scoring led Cleckheaton to a comfortable win.
Special mention to Alec Manby who played his first game of rugby and was completely un-phased.
In both games, the team effort was extraordinary with each player helping and motivating other players.
