Another season finally came to a close with the Junior presentation day marking an end to another good season for the under 11's.

Looking at the results, with more defeats than victories, you may question why it has been a good season. However, what should never be forgotton in junior rugby, is playing the game in the right spirit, with the right attitude and playing with enjoyment is more important than results. The season has not been without its challenges but whatever has been thrown at the under 11's, they have met each challenge head on. Their willingness to work hard and continue to compete until the final whistle has been exemplorary. The respect shown to their opposition players and coaches and also to the referee has been of the highest standard and an example to all.

As a team there has been a continued improvement. The under 11's have shown themselves to be a tight knit unit. Individually, all the players have improved their skill sets and their understanding of the game. This is where the score lines do not relflect the true picture as in many games this past season the under 11's have dominated the scrum and the breakdown drawing compliments, (sometimes begrudgingly) from opposition coaches and supporters alike.

Off the field, the under 11's and their families have continued to support the club. For the second year running, the under 11 parents won the parents dinner quiz and would clearly have won the award for being the most raucous and rowdy ( in a good way) if one existed ! The end of season party for the under 11's saw them having a session at Spenborough baths on the inflatables and slide prior to visiting a local curry venue for the end of season meal. There was a tremendous turn out with fourteen players and twenty one parents enjoying what was a great night out.

Sunday saw the awards presentation for the Junior section. Another great day was had by all, especially by the under 11's who were awarded the Junior section's shield for team of the year 2013/2014. This is the second occasion they have won the award in their short playing careers.

Individual tropheys were then awarded.

We also wanted to reward out team captian this season for his outstanding leadership throughout the season. Marcus was presented with a certificate and club shirt and formally handed over the reins to Eugene Rounding who has been named Team captain for the season 2014/2015.

So we say good bye to the 2013/2014 season and look forward to the next. Training on a Wednesday night is to continue until we break in July before starting again in late August.
